This congregation was planted by Brother David W. Hallett, a missionary from Canada in 1963 at Shillong (then capital of Assam state, now Meghalaya). Brother Hallett ran the Alpha Bible College upto 1992 (since closed down). After 30 years of active teaching, he retired to Shubanecadie, Canada. Following his (and other brothers' work), many congregations were planted in Manipur state (in NE India) and in Myanmar (formerly Burma) by students of the Alpha Bible College. This congregation is the result of brother Hallett's work. It is a youthful congregation worshipping in English. They have a business team. Some of the leaders here are Awnkhomang Guite, Hansing (these are former students-teachers of the Alpha Bible College), Thongsiandong, & others. The congregation comprises of members from mainly two tribal groups - Khasi (local) & Paite (from Manipur-Myanmar). Students from Manipur form a majority of its members. Bro. David W.
